The Company Reputation Manager role is a crucial position for Meijer, as it helps steward a reputation that has been built over nearly 100 years. The position reports to the Senior Manager of External Communications and is part of the company's Communications & Community Engagement department.


WhatYou'llbe Doing:

  • ​​Review current events toidentifypotentialreputationalintersections withthe companyand alert theappropriate businessleaders so preventive steps can be taken.

  • Identifymacro issues/trends (e.g.,growth ofAI)that couldimpactour reputationandmake recommendations onhow Meijer can position itself effectively.

  • Play a key role inthe company'sefforts to mitigate emerging issues, including developingmitigation and communicationstrategies.

  • Work closely withcross-functional teams toensurethe company'sreputation-orientedmessagingremainsup-to-date.

  • Screening potential partners toidentifyreputational risks.

  • Play a key role in the company'scrisis preparedness efforts, includingassisting withcrisis simulations andmaintainingcrisis communicationsprotocols.

  • Serve as apointperson for the company'sengagement with NGOs(non-government organizations)and advocacy groups.

  • Leadthe department'sreputation management reporting.

  • Support other external communicationsprograms asneeded.

What You Bring with You (Qualifications):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism,Change Management,or related fields.

  • Minimum10yearsofcommunicationsexperience in a corporate or agency settingwith 5 years of issues and crisis communications experience

  • Exceptional intrapersonal skills and the ability to provide counsel to team members at all levels, including senior leadership

  • Proven ability tobuild trust and respect among internalpartners

  • Strong business acumen

  • Commitment to continuous improvement

  • Strong understanding of how to use data and technologyto produce advanced communications work

  • Extremely strong writing capabilities

  • Strongorganizational skills

  • Calm demeanor suitedfor workingin a fast-paced environment

  • Enthusiasm for issues and crisis communications work
