This position will provide legal support and advice to the Company with respect to various commercial and regulatory matters with primary responsibility for all legal needs related to the retail operations and pharmacy business units, reporting to a Senior Counsel.
Provides business-oriented legal advice, support and solutions to the retail operations and pharmacy business areas, including:
Overall responsibility for the review, negotiation, preparation and management of contracts for the pharmacy business, including contracts with payors, manufacturers, service providers, consultants, and other vendors.
Provides legal advice with respect to all regulatory and legal issues associated with the operation of retail and specialty pharmacies.
Provides legal advice for all commercial and regulatory matters associated with the Company’s retail operations, including regulations regarding alcohol, tobacco and other regulated products, weights and measures requirements, and compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act/Patriot Act.
Represents the Company and/or advises the Company’s representatives in proceedings before regulatory bodies.
Analyzes the impact of new laws and regulations on the assigned business areas, and partners with the business area to implement new programs and/or requirements.

Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
At least five years of experience as a practicing attorney in a law firm or in-house legal department.
Experience in the health care area and/or other regulatory areas impacting retail operations preferred.
Commercial/contract experience preferred.
Business acumen and approach to legal advice.
Ability to write and speak clearly and concisely; detail-oriented.
Ability to generate accurate work product quickly as requested by client business areas.
Ability to effectively research new or revised laws or regulations relevant to assigned business areas and to determine how new or revised laws or regulations will impact client business areas and advise the business areas accordingly.
Maintains a helpful and sincere positive attitude to help accomplish the proper goals of the client business areas.
